Terms & Conditions of the Tax Free Regime

Any person, of any nationality (whether or not French), residing outside the European Union or in a French Overseas County or Territory, has the possibility of purchasing a new vehicle in mainland France exempt from taxes.

The advantages are as follows:

Temporary exemption from Value Added Tax (V.A.T.) applicable to certain goods used in mainland France, notably individual cars for tourism

Exemption from tax on "grey cards" (vehicle registration documents)

Formula:

"T" Registration

"T" stands for temporary transit. This is a special registration in a French series allowing temporary driving of new individual cars for tourism purchased in mainland France by persons staying occasionally in Mainland France and the European Union.
The registration number and the month and year indicating when this regime expires are reproduced in white characters on a red background on each registration plate.

The vehicle:

A vehicle registered like this is allowed to drive temporarily exempt from taxes. This T registration is intended solely for new vehicles for private tourist use, purchased in Mainland France. Consequently, neither utility vehicles; driving school vehicles nor ambulances may be covered by a Temporary Transit registration. Observation : It should be noted that Citroën, Peugeot and Renault offers in its range exclusively "left-hand drive" vehicles on a France/Europe basis.

The contract:

From a legal standpoint, a TT Contract is a VAT-free sale contract with deferred payment agreement.
The client must satisfy the criteria giving them entitlement to benefit from the VAT-free regime. They pay by credit card, and before delivery, a sum dependent on the length of time the car is to be used for. This price is not therefore dependent on the distance driven.
The difference between the sale price of the new car and the depreciation related to the use of this vehicle during the term of the contract constitutes the guarantee sum recorded on a promissory note which the client signs in favour of the maker

At the end of their contract, the client may:

Return their vehicle to the maker on the date and at the place stipulated in the contract. They are then no longer the holder.

Keep the vehicle definitively. In order to become the definitive owner, the client must contact the maker in order to pay the balance due

Cancellation Fees

► RENAULT: All cancellation taking place until 22 days before the delivery date: 50€ of cancellation fees
All cancellation taking place between 21 days or less before the delivery date: 800 Euros VAT Free will be charged by the maker.

► All modification received less than 24 working days before the delivery date will be charged 300 Euros VAT Free by the maker

► PEUGEOT: All cancellation taking place until 26 days before the delivery date: 50 € cancellation fees. All cancellation taking place between 25 days or less before the delivery date: 300 Euros VAT Free will be charged by the maker if the vehicle is not yet registered
All cancellation of a registered vehicle: 800 Euros VAT Free will be charged by the maker

All name changes on the contract: a 50 € fee will apply

Abandoned vehicle:

- If the vehicle is abandoned in the same city as the delivery center:

the client will be charged all expenses engaged for repatriating the car plus annex fees (parking, storage, etc.), charged by Peugeot Open Europe

If the vehicle is abandoned in a city other than the delivery center:

other than the annex fees, the client will be charged 400 € if the vehicle is abandoned in France and 600 € if the vehicle is abandoned in another country

►CITROEN:

All cancellation taking place until 26 days before the delivery date: 50 € cancellation fees. All cancellation taking place between 25 days or less before the delivery date: 300 Euros VAT Free will be charged by the maker if the vehicle is not yet registered
All cancellation of a registered vehicle: 800 Euros VAT Free will be charged by the maker

All name changes on the contract: a 50 € fee will apply

Abandoned vehicle:

- If the vehicle is abandoned in the same city as the delivery center:

the client will be charged all expenses engaged for repatriating the car plus annex fees (parking, storage, etc.), charged by Citroën Champ de Mars

If the vehicle is abandoned in a city other than the delivery center:

other than the annex fees, the client will be charged 400 € if the vehicle is abandoned in France and 600 € if the vehicle is abandoned in another country

►DS:

All name changes on the contract: a 50 € fee will apply

Abandoned vehicle:

- If the vehicle is abandoned in the same city as the delivery center:

the client will be charged all expenses engaged for repatriating the car plus annex fees (parking, storage, etc.), charged by DS Automobiles

If the vehicle is abandoned in a city other than the delivery center:

other than the annex fees, the client will be charged 400 € if the vehicle is abandoned in France and 600 € if the vehicle is abandoned in another country

Documents

All documents must be sent by email (info@ttcar.net) or uploaded in your personnal account 21 days prior to the delivery date at latest. If the entire file is not received by TT Car Transit at least 25 days before the delivery date, the delivery will be rescheduled without the refund of the unused days, and a 50€ fee will be charged by the maker.

Photocopies of the passport showing the photograph of the holder, their signature and the passport number. Observation: in the case of persons of French nationality and who reside in the French Overseas Counties or Territories, a photocopy of the identity card may be used instead of one of the passport.
A "certificate of residence and registration" issued by the consulate, or a "residence certificate" issued by any local authority (town hall, police office, etc.). A photocopy of a consular card is accepted.

Non-French persons or persons who do not have the nationality of a member state of the E.U.:

Order note.
Photocopies of the passport showing the photograph and signature of the holder, and their passport number.

You are a Student:

French or E.U. Citizen:

Educational certificate of the current academic year.
Photocopies of the passport showing the holder's photograph, their signature and the passport number. Observation: for persons of French nationality and who reside in the French Overseas Counties or Territories exclusively, a photocopy of the identity card may be used instead of the passport.
Attestation to be completed and signed.
A parental attestation certifying that the student is financially dependent on them during their studies. This attestation must be signed by the father and the mother.
For the parents of the student, a "certificate of residence and registration" issued by the consulate, or a "certificate of residence" issued by any local authority (town hall, police office, etc.). A photocopy of the consular card is accepted.

Non-French persons or persons who do not have the nationality of a member state of the E.U.:

Stamp + residence permit or proof showing that the application has been filed. Attestation to be completed and signed. For the parents of the student, a certificate of residence abroad (outside E.U.).

A "certificate of residence and registration" issued by the consulate, or a "residence certificate" issued by any local authority (town hall, police office, etc.). A photocopy of the consular card is accepted.

Your Order

All confirmed reservation implicates payment of the contract's total amount. at least three weeks before the delivery date date by credit card, bank transfer or check (recoverable in France). If the delivery is to take take place within a delay inferior to three weeks, please enquire before booking, for the vehicle may not be available. If these conditions aren't respected the delivery date may be delayed or the contract cancelled. A cancellation fee may apply, please consult us for further details
By confirming a booking the client is engaged to provide all documents required for a Tax Free Registration at least three weeks before the delivery fate. If this delay isn't respected a cancellation fee of up to 800€ charged by the maker may apply, please contact us for further details.

All delivery centre mentioned at the time of the booking is final.

You may change the return centre by contacting the return centre of your choice at least 4 working day prior to the return date scheduled originaly.
